The Feminist Therapy Referral Project (FTRP), founded by feminist therapists in the women's movement, has been providing psychotherapy referrals for women and their families for over 30 years. All FTRP members are California-licensed professionals with many years of specialized training, clinical experience, and community service.

FTRP offers information, choice, and empowerment to clients seeking mental health services, respecting each person's particular needs and economic circumstances. We value all kinds of families and acknowledge every person's ethnicity, race, culture, class, sexual and gender identity, and special needs when making referrals.

We actively seek therapists from diverse communities who enrich our understanding of cultural differences and fit our clients' needs and requests. FTRP membership includes bilingual, multicultural, multiracial, heterosexual, lesbian and bisexual practitioners. Only seasoned, licensed psychotherapists who demonstrate clinical and ethical competence, a commitment to feminist values and respect for diversity, are considered for membership. Each FTRP therapist is accepted by unanimous group decision after a thorough application and interview process. All FTRP members agree to reserve openings for sliding scale referrals.
