Frequently Asked Questions

How does one dress for a session?
Acupressure is performed in a comfortable enviroment where clothing is worn throughout the session. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will want to take your shoes off, but you may keep your socks on. Occasionally I may want to attach small magnets to the surface of your skin.

How long is a session?

A typical acupressure session is one and one-half hours. It is my feeling that need this much individual time with you to do a complete, whole-body treatment.

I have pain in my lower back, can you help me with that?

Acupressure is a great treatment for your lower back. We will work on energy meridians as well as muscle balancing and toning. The back is affected by many parts of your body, so the issues may be with more than your back. Sometimes even a pair of shoes that doesn't fit properly can affect your bad!

I have had neck pain due to a car accident. I've been told by my doctor that I will always have this pain. Do you think you can help me?

I cannot diagnose your problem here, but I will be glad to work with you to ease the pain in your neck. There are many muscular and structural (as well as energetic) techniques we can use to attempt to lessen the pain.

Can you prescribe medicines for me?

I am not a medical doctor and cannot "prescribe" medications as an MD can. I occasionally recommend over-the-counter products to my clients for specific situations. For information about Chinese Herbs, click here.

If I am currently being seen by a Western doctor, will you agree to see me?
I believe that Acupressure works very well in tandem with Western medicine. I am usually happy to work with clients who are also being treated by a regular M.D.
